Hogwarts Legacy is a role-playing game based on the Harry Potter universe, the events of which take place long before the main events of “Potteriana” — in the 19th century. Players take control of one of the students enrolled at schools in Hogwarts of Witchcraft and Wizardry, who not only learn magic but also explore the school itself and its surrounding areas.
Game Requirements

Quidditch positions
During the Hogwarts Legacy gameplay reveal, players saw the ability to fly on a broomstick and even griffins. However, “Potteriana” fans did not see one of the key sports in the world of Harry Potter – the game of Quidditch. Later, with the release of the official FAQ, it was discovered that Quidditch teams were not mentioned in it either.
The FAQ states that the broom can be used to travel around the world of Hogwarts Legacy and to race – Quidditch Harry Potter is not mentioned. Probably, this sport won’t be implemented in the game, but it may appear in the future as DLC – the developers haven’t announced any plans for DLC so far.
Also, FAQ provides the following information about flying – the players will be able to “tame, saddle, and ride some of the magic beasts. Unfortunately, no examples are given, but in the gameplay trailer, the hero could fly on the back of a griffin. It’s unknown: whether the domestication process will take place as a lesson – the FAQ mentions the need to take a course on flying a broomstick as an example. Speaking of lessons, the developers mention Enchantment classes, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, and Pottery.
Hogwarts Legacy will be released in late 2022. Meanwhile, players continue to study the gameplay trailer and have already managed to reveal the likely identity of one of the villains.
The likely identity of the Hogwarts Legacy villain has been revealed online
During the gameplay trailer for Hogwarts Legacy, one of the villains, a dark wizard named Victor Rookwood, was revealed in the video. VGC did an “investigation” and found out that Victor Rookwood could be the probable ancestor of Augustus Rookwood, the Death Eater, and Lord Voldemort’s loyal spy.
August Rookwood is first mentioned in Harry Potter and the the Goblet of Fire – officially he worked for the Ministry of Magic, but secretly he was one of Voldemort’s accomplices. Since the game takes place in the early 19th century, long before the events of the Harry Potter books, it is assumed that Victor Rookwood is August Rookwood’s grandfather.
Whether or not he is, players will only find out with the release of Hogwarts Legacy, which comes out in late 2022.

The collector’s edition of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay includes a “flying” wand
The creators of Hogwarts Legacy have officially revealed the content of the collector’s edition of the game. The cost of this edition will be about $350, and it will be a limited edition.
There will be a sticker book with the deluxe version of the game and a “full-size wand”, which levitates over the stand in the form of a book. The wand is a Leviton that flies over the book thanks to a magnetic cushion. It’s also noteworthy that the artbook will not be in the collector’s edition — they offer to buy it separately for about $50.
Hogwarts Legacy release is scheduled on February 10, 2023.
